WE FOLLOW THE INTUITIVE AMERICAN SENSE TO SERVE, PROTECT AND CARE FOR OTHERS.
The American Warrior Association (AWA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in the fourth quarter of 2018. The AWA is dedicated to honoring, aiding and supporting our Military, Veterans and First Responders who uphold the principles of our country and have chosen to unselfishly serve others and effect positive change in society.
MORAL INJURIES ARE THE UNSPOKEN PRICE PAID BY THOSE WHO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS AND LIBERTIES AT HOME AND ABROAD.
Moral injuries are the distressing psychological, behavioral, social, and sometimes spiritual aftermath of exposure to traumatic events experienced by all people throughout life and especially those that are in high-risk occupations. The continuous witnessing of human suffering or loss of life can devastate the spiritual and mental foundation of an individual. This could happen after one significant event, after a series of events, or after a continuous prolonged event. These traumatic events that create moral injuries have life-long, negative impacts.
Our military, veterans and first responders experience traumatic events daily on the frontlines abroad or within our own communities at home. These on-the-job experiences become a grueling accepted reality and are unfairly brushed off as the price of business. Whether it is war and conflict, or human suffering and loss of life at home, those that serve the American People in their most dire times of need and within harm's way, bear the emotional weight and psychological scars of occupational trauma.
“The unseen wounds of occupational trauma inflict the moral wounds leading to the increase in suicide today.”
AWA’s programs help repair the soul and give rest and recovery to every individual. Through original curriculum and teaching sessions, prayer and meditation, horseback riding, outdoor adventure and time for reflection, each warrior is able to encounter God in an entirely new way. They are equipped with the tools needed to face life’s challenges and find brothers and sisters to have their back when the fight gets tough.
The programs are free of charge to our warriors and paid for by the most generous patriotic donors who love those that serve our nation.
