SEE HOW YOUR SUPPORT IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
“I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I wasn’t even sure about God. But I can tell you that I met Jesus on that mountain. My life will never be the same. I was also finally able to say goodbye to the brothers that I lost in combat. Something I’ve never been able to do.”

“This week was one of the most challenging weeks I’ve been through emotionally, spiritually and physically. This program completely took me out of my element, and it was exactly what I needed to reconnect with God and conquer the pain of my past.”

“I was raised in the Catholic Church my first 18 years of life, and even went as far as volunteering to be the Religious Petty Officer in bootcamp. I quickly lost my connection to God while on my first deployment in 2009; this was my last acknowledgment of Him before the AWA retreat this past October. Oddly enough, this opportunity was presented at a time where I had not one ounce of gratitude or passion left in me. To sum up my experience on the retreat so briefly seems impossible. What I can say with great certainty about my time with that group is that my walls were broken down so gently, so brick-by-brick, that I did not even realize the impact it had on my faith until I was back home. I attended church for the first time in 12 years this past Sunday, and I am finally coming back to myself and to God. I can’t thank you enough for this experience.”
