Scholar Warriors Program™ – Scholarship Tiers
TIER ONE:
The Bill Mulder Scholarship

Award: Up to $15,000 per academic year

Named in honor of Navy SEAL Bill Mulder, who embodied servant leadership, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of purpose.

This is AWA’s highest academic scholarship, awarded to former Special Operations Forces (SOF) or combat veterans accepted into top-tier academic institutions. This includes:

  • Top 20-ranked MBA, Law, or Medical programs in the U.S.

Recipients are chosen based on financial need, merit, character, and demonstrated leadership potential in post-military life. The application process is highly competitive and intended for those prepared to lead in new fields of national significance. Scholars at this level are expected to carry forward Bill Mulder’s legacy by becoming servant-leaders in their next mission.

TIER TWO:
Advanced Degree & Leadership Scholarships

Award: Up to $10,000 per academic year

Tier Two Scholarships are designed to support SOF veterans and transitioning first responders seeking advanced education and specialized training at:

  • Top 20-ranked MBA, Law, or Medical programs in the U.S.

These awards are based on financial need and academic standing, with preference given to candidates who demonstrate a clear plan to apply their education toward meaningful leadership roles and community impact.

TIER THREE:
Transition & Trade Pathway Scholarships

Award: Up to $2,500 per academic year

This tier exists to bridge the gap between the G.I. Bill and the real costs of completing a degree, trade certification, or vocational program. Many veterans face out-of-pocket expenses in the final year of their degree or during specialized training when G.I. Bill benefits run out.

Tier Three Scholarships are awarded to:

  • Transitioning SOF operators
  • Combat veterans pursuing bachelor’s degrees or trade certifications

These awards ease financial pressure during critical transition points and help ensure veterans can finish strong, without sacrificing momentum.

Medical Doctor Candidate,
UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine

A 2016 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Jack dual-majored in Quantitative Economics and Chinese, earned multiple academic and athletic honors, and competed on the heavyweight crew team.

Jack also brings private sector experience from Vista Equity Partners and independent investing, and continues to serve the veteran community through work with the SEAL Future Foundation and Glen Doherty Memorial Foundation.
